How safe are trampolines
A question we hear all the time and one we see being discussed on the internet quite often. We recently produced a document on how safe trampolines are as it is something of a myth that they are unsafe.
At Atlantic Trampolines we strongly advise you use a safety enclosure with your trampoline, as without children can fall off quite easily.
We conducted our own research with focus groups on the misconceptions that trampolines are unsafe, and the reports were quite surprising.
A few basic principles can be used to make sure you are using your trampoline in the safest possible way:
1) that having more than one child at a time on a trampoline increases the risk of accidents;
2) that children under 6 are most at risk and should only use smaller trampolines which are designed for that age-group
3) that having a safety net reduces the risk of accidents.
4) that parental supervision reduces the risk of accidents.
5) that a third of children are hurt by jumping or falling off the trampoline.
6) that springs and poles should be covered and padded.
7) that the trampoline should be kept in good condition with no holes, tears etc
