The London Olympics are now only 2 years away, and amongst the hundreds of competitors is James Higgins from Northampton, a trampolinist who will be competing for gold.
A recent interview with The Sun gives a little insight into the sport and how James got into it, it’s benefits and his thoughts on the Olympics.

I was on the trampoline from 13 weeks old because my mum Anne was coaching five days a week.
“She used to trampoline for the Great Britain youth team. The two years to get ready for the London Games is added to 18 years of preparation. I started doing competitions when I was six, then I had two years out from when I was 22.
“I was struggling with exams, work and funding and things like that and worked until I could afford to train. I now work for National Grid in their head offices, but I only do five hours a week. They effectively sponsor me to train.
“I average between five and seven hours a day training, not all on the trampoline because it is quite taxing on the body. So I also do gym work.”
We wish him all the best!
