The Advantage of a Trampoline Ladder

I have seen many trampolines in gardens when I travel around which do not have an access ladder. Usually this is because one was not supplied when the trampoline was bought and the owner hasn’t seen the need, or known where, to buy one. It can also be seen as something that is a bit unnecessary. Atlantic Trampolines decided to include a trampoline ladder with every trampoline they sell.

On a trampoline the ladder has a number of key advantages:

  • when a trampoline enclosure is fitted this can make it slightly more difficult to access the trampoline mat and a ladder can make life alot easier.
  • where a ladder is fitted children are less likely to jump off the trampoline as they leave it and risk an injury. They have been used to jumping on a bouncy mat and can forget how hard the ground is!
  • an access ladder is essential for younger children to be able to access the trampoline unaided. By taking the ladder away access to the trampoline can also be denied to the younger children if this is necessary.
  • when a ladder is not available you often find other objects being used to fulfill the same purpose but they can be unstable (not being fixed to the trampoline) and might at worst be dangerous to use if a child slips as they are climbing on or off the trampoline.

Trampoline ladders can be bought separately but will vary in size depending on how high your trampoline mat is off the ground. Some ladders have the rungs made of tubular steel which can be painful for children to use when they are wearing socks or have bare feet. The trampoline ladder sold by Atlantic Trampolines has flat rungs that are much more comfortable on the sole of the feet.

The trampoline ladder needs to be the correct height to match the trampoline’s height and ideally it should hook over the trampoline frame so it will not move and remain secure as people use it.
