We learnt today that TP Toys, one of the oldest names in the outdoor play equipment market, has gone into Administration. They have probably left many of their customers, who include some of the UK’s leading retailers, in a difficult position in the lead up to Christmas. One of the main products TP supply are trampolines and these make a popular gift at Christmas, particularly in the current climate when a trampoline can be a present for the whole family to enjoy.
TP was founded back in the 1950’s initially making hula-hoops which were sold from the back of a car and later making climbing frames out of steel tubing. “TP” originally stood for Tube Products but in recent years the company has been known as Tube Plastics.
The Administrator of TP Toys has said that the company’s financial difficulties stemmed from “increasing overheads and its inability to carry out a refinancing”.
Atlantic Trampolines welcome enquiries from any retailer or individual customer who has difficulty sourcing trampolines in the lead up to Christmas. We have large stocks with more arriving prior to Christmas and offer a free next business day delivery service covering the UK.
I think it is very sad news, many retailers have not been told and so many people face unemployment at Christmas time – I hope that a solution can be found and they are able to move forward.
