Trampoline Spring Clean

So Winter looks like it is finally ending, it seems to have gone on forever, and now Spring is just around the corner but a little later than usual this year. As families venture out into the garden the detritus’ of the Winter is all apparent. If you have left your trampoline out over the Winter then it could be looking a bit sorry for itself. Don’t worry though as parts are readily available from our site and usually very easy to fit. A Spring clean of the trampoline will make it look good and provide another season of fun and exercise for the family.

Spring Padding

Much of the spring padding used on trampolines is covered in a cheap PE material which becomes brittle in the sun light and cracks. Atlantic Trampolines can provide replacement spring padding for most sizes of round trampoline which is covered in polyester that is more hard wearing and stands up to sun light better. Replacing the spring padding will make the trampoline look like new and also make it safer for those using it.

Jump Mat

If the jump mat has remained uncovered over the winter then wash it down with some hot soapy water. This will help to remove any dirt and algae that might make it slippery. You can hose it off afterwards. If the mat is damaged at all from, say fireworks landing on it or branches falling on it, then consider buying a new jump mat. To do this you will need to know the size of the trampoline (measure across the centre from the outside edge to the opposite outside edge which will usually be a number of whole feet). You also need to know the number of springs it has attached to it. Unless you have the spring attachment tool from when you bought the trampoline then you should ask the supplier to send you one of these as well. When attaching the new mat make sure you attach the springs at the points 12 o’clock, 3 0’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock first, then add the others by splitting the gaps so the tension on the mat builds up evenly. If you don’t do this and simply attach the springs in clockwise order the last few will be nearly impossible to attach.

Safety Enclosure

If the safety enclosure is damaged then you might consider a replacement. It is unsafe to simply remove it and leave the trampoline without an enclosure as your family will be used to having one on the trampoline. To order a new safety enclosure you will need to know the size of trampoline (measured as above) and the number of U-shaped legs it has.

Weather Cover

If you don’t have a weather cover for your trampoline you may want to order one at the same time you buy the other parts you need. The weather cover can help to protect the jump mat and the spring padding from harsh weather and strong sunshire. It also keep bird droppings and leaves off the jump mat.

Trampoline Tent

To add more interest to the trampoline take a look at these trampoline tents. They fit over the trampoline in a dome shape and the internal height is half of the diameter of the trampoline. They allow very young children to bounce in a safe environment protected from rain and strong sunshine. Older children can use them as a den or for sleep-overs.
