How do I decide which trampoline to buy?

There are a number of factors to consider but mainly what space you have available in the garden, your budget and the older the children (and adults!!) the larger the recommended trampoline to maximise your enjoyment.

Are your trampolines easy to assemble?

Yes. It is advisable for two people to carry out installation due to the bulky nature of the components. Allow about 20 minutes to read the instructions, 20 minutes to erect the trampoline and about 20 minutes to attach the safety enclosure. Don't forget to use the included spring clip tool as it will save a lot of time, struggling and blisters.

What weight will each trampoline take?

Each of our trampolines have been tested and are certificated and suitable for a total user weight of 100kg (approx 16 stone).

Do you hold spare parts in stock?

Yes. Our trampolines come with a lengthy warranty and we know you will enjoy years of hassle free use. On the odd instance you need a replacement part we can help. Please contact us for further assistance.

What warranty is included?

The framework is covered by a 5 year warranty against failure due to rust or defect. All the other components are covered by a full year's warranty. The warranty does not cover damage due to misuse or not following the manufacturer's usage instructions.

Do I need to pack my trampoline set away in the winter?

No. The trampoline is designed to be durable and can be left out all year round. It is advisable to remove the safety enclosure during the bad weather months but this can be laid on top of the trampoline and the weather cover laid over the top. Why not consider one of our trampoline tents so you can use the trampoline even during the wetter weather.

Do your trampolines have safety certificates?

Yes. All our trampolines hold GS/RWTUV certification, have been cadmium tested and conform to the relevant standard EN71. Read our safety section for further information.

What do I need to do to keep my trampoline in tip-top condition?

Following the manufacturer's guidelines will mean your family will enjoy years of use from your trampoline. If over a period of time the springs start to squeak, apply a little petroleum jelly to the spring holes.
We have a section dedicated to trampoline safety and so if any of your questions aren't answered here, please take a look at our safety guidelines and press pack which will answer all of you questions, here. How much space should I leave around my trampoline?

We recommend at least 2ft of space be left around the entire trampoline, and this should be free of clutter and potential hazards.

Can I sink my trampoline into the ground?

Yes. Some of our customers have done this but it involves a lot of digging! You will need a hole at least 3ft deep but it depends on the size of your trampoline and who will be using it. For specific information about whether this may be right for you give us a call on 01646 622211.

How many people can bounce at one time?

We recommend only allowing one bouncer on your trampoline at a time. It is also advisable to purchase a safety skirt to go around the outside of your trampoline to stop little people walking underneath whilst waiting for their turn.

What size trampoline should I buy?

We get asked this question all the time and love answering it, as quite a lot of customers decide to buy a trampoline without knowing the range of sizes you can buy. Round trampolines supplied in the UK have a size measured in feet being the diameter of the trampoline measured from the very outside edge of the frame across the centre to the opposite outside edge.

The smallest is around 6ft and the largest around 15ft. We recommend you get the largest size that you can fit in your garden and that you can afford. As your children grow they will want a bigger bouncing area. Although use of a trampoline should be limited to one at a time, children will want to play on it with their friends and a bigger trampoline gives them more room. So check how much room you have first.

The ground will need to be level and preferably soft, such as on grass. The site should be away from overhanging branches and cables. You also need to allow about 18 inches between the edge of the trampoline and side structures such as walls and fences. If you don’t want a safety enclosure then this distance needs to be much greater.

What features should I look out for?

Frame

The frame of the trampoline is about the most important part, these are usually made of galvanised steel (a process that coats the metal against rust) and better quality ones will have the galvanised protection both on the inside and outside of the tubing. Frames that are powercoated might be cheaper but provide much less protection against rust.

The weakest part of the frame can be where the circular ring joins the uprights. On most trampolines this is a welded joint but these welds can be of poor quality and even good quality welds may crack in time and render the trampoline useless. We use a patented T-joint for their trampolines which avoids the need for a weld and the difficulties that can result from this method of construction.

Bounce mat and Spring cover

The bounce mat needs to be strong and hard wearing. It also needs to be smooth when a jumper falls against it with their bare skin. Better trampolines use a mat made of Permatron Polypropolyene which is also UV resistant and will stand up to years of exposure to direct sunlight. The spring cover is also exposed to bright sunlight and the PE material used by many manufacturers will crack after a year or so of use. We use Polyester on the top surface of their spring covers which provides a much longer life span.

Number of springs

Manufacturers will normally state how many springs they use for each size of trampoline they sell. Larger trampolines will have more springs than smaller ones. However, when comparing similar size trampolines from different manufacturers the one with the most springs is not necessarily the best or most powerful.

The number of springs needed for the optimum bounce is related to the weight of the user. A large number of springs can make it very hard or impossible for a young child to bounce.

Weight limit

Most trampolines will specify a maximum safe weight limit. A weight limit of around 100kg (16 stone) should be ample for most families.
